Located in Los Angeles, The Monica Payne Studio is dedicated to studying the craft of acting through a Meisner-based technique. We strive for artistic excellence and we get there through risk-taking, hard work, and commitment.
THE MEISNER TECHNIQUE
The Meisner technique is based on the work of Sanford Meisner, a master teacher who had an incredibly influential impact on acting in America. An actor and a member of the Group Theatre in the 1930’s, Meisner went on to create a technique that centers around strengthening the actor’s emotional honesty and imagination. Actors trained in this technique have a reputation for their visceral and grounded performances. Whether you are a beginner or have been working in the business for twenty-five years, this technique will take you to the next level.
